Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect your privacy. It's written in plain language because transparency matters.

Advisens is operated for users primarily based in the GCC, and we aim to follow applicable data protection principles in those jurisdictions.

Last updated: December 2025

Data controller and legal basis

Advisens acts as the data controller for information processed on the platform prior to any identity reveal.

We process personal data on the following legal bases:

Consent, where you choose to create an account or reveal your identity to an advisor
Legitimate interest, where processing is necessary to operate, secure, and improve the platform in a way that does not override your rights

You are not required to create an account or reveal your identity to use Advisens.

What information we collect

When you use Advisens, we collect information in two contexts: anonymous case submissions and account creation for tracking purposes.

When you submit a case anonymously:

  • Your financial situation, goals, and questions as you describe them
  • Basic demographic information you choose to share (age range, location, family status)
  • Technical information like your IP address and browser type (for security and functionality only)

If you create an account to track submissions:

  • Your email address
  • A password you create (stored securely and encrypted)
  • Your name, if you choose to reveal your identity to an advisor

What we don't collect

We deliberately limit what we collect. Here's what we don't track or store:

Advertising or marketing cookies
Third-party tracking or analytics beyond basic site functionality
Browsing history outside of Advisens
Financial account numbers, passwords, or access credentials for external services
Personal information beyond what you explicitly provide

How we use your information

We use the information you provide to operate the platform and facilitate connections between users and advisors. Specifically:

To share your anonymised case with eligible advisors
To allow you to log in and track your submissions
To facilitate communication if you choose to reveal your identity
To improve the platform based on aggregated, non-identifiable usage patterns
To respond to support requests or technical issues

We do not sell your data. We do not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not use your information to serve advertisements.

Who can access your information

Access to your information is limited and controlled:

Advisors can see:

  • Your anonymised case details (situation, goals, questions)
  • Any demographic context you choose to include
  • Your identity only if and when you explicitly choose to reveal it

Advisors cannot see:

  • Your name, email, or contact information unless you reveal it
  • Which other advisors you're considering or have contacted
  • Whether you've accepted or declined their response

The Advisens team can see:

Our small operations team has access to submitted cases and user accounts for support, moderation, and platform functionality. This access is limited to what's necessary to operate the service. We do not review your information for commercial purposes.
